I might be getting a Morris 10 (1940’s I think) (not really a classic, but similar), I have been to look at it and since it’s been in a shed for 20yrs it hasn’t aged too badly. Its got the usual “old car” rust, mostly surface stuff thats lifted the paint a bit, a few small “cancers” but they are not deep. Like the good old cars, the metal is 1.4mm or similar mild steel so that’s fixable. There are one or two places where the rust has really set in that will need to be cut out tho.

My question is, whats the best and most cost effective way to get rid of the rust? I’m guessing since it needs new paint i’ll need all the paint off too so whats the cheapest and/or easiest way to go about this? I’m guessing sand blasting or maybe soda blasting? If it’s one of those whats the best and why? I’m thinking soda blasting wouldn’t be enough to get all the rust? What about post stripping? What should I paint it with after? These guys are near http://www.steamsand.co.nz/ and they post treat the metal with zinc I think. Is this a good way to go or can you not prime/paint over that?

Thanks for the help, I dont have any good friends who can tell me this panel work stuff, plenty of mechanic pals who are keen help fix her up though! Electronics I can do, engine work, sort of, panel work, not so well learned.

Okay I have engine parts for a second generation chevy 350 small block engine. But it’s gonna be pretty expensive to bore my block out so it will be cheaper to buy a block off craigslist. A guy has a high performance 4 bolt main 1990 sbc engine. It’s fitted for a roller cam. Will my parts match up? What won’t?

i put the heads off the chevelle on a 85 454, and it seems like it has a flat spot on the initial go, when i get down on it. thinking maybe the cam is not pushing the rods to open the valves all the way, do to the heads may be taller? any help will be good. thanks

So we have had classic cars for one generation, baseball cards for another. So I was watching my 14 year old nephew yesterday and wondered what he will be buying and saving for the future.

After the new update a couple days ago (added Italian cars, Italian pack and playlist, and more cars), how do you unlock the new cars that say you need to beat 10 multiplayer objectives on a classic car, technical or signature car, etc. playlist? I haven’t seen any of these playlists on the game at all. I am ecspecially wanting the tier 6 challenger RT (vanish), the tier 6 lancer evo, and the tier 6 mustang super snake Shelby gt that is carbon fiber black (its called roon or 1200?) signature edition I think.
