I inherited a 65 impala ss with the original 283 v8 2 speed transmission, only problem is the engine stalls all the time, it’s bad on gas (to put it lightly) and its putters along like its an oversized golf cart. my question is should i rebuilt the 120,000miles engine or just upgrade to something that’ll haul ass, the value of the car now is $10,000 and the interior and body are in excellent condition. I’m scared by upgrading the engine I’ll destroy the value of the car.
