So, my dad is convinced that he is going to buy my first car. I’m not to enthusiastic about it since his idea of a first car is one of those white, beat up, black bumpered cavaliers. Not my idea of a car.

He has canceled on my car twice to buy himself a new gun, so my options are limited. I need a car that isn’t too expensive. However nice a corvette might be, there is no use buying one used and there is no way we can pull out 30,000$ for one.

I’ve sort of got my heart set on a pontiac. Though I’ve expanded to chevy or saturn. I wouldn’t call myself a car genius but I am mechanically inclined. I’ve been begging my dad to start rebuilding his 70 chevy truck with me. I miss staying up late at night with him. Unfortunately his girlfriend thinks classic cars are only for retired people. And if I live by her rules I’m screwed till I’m 70 cause I WILL have my 67 Impala, one day, when I can still enjoy the drag strip still. Ha ha!

Anyways, I’m still looking for car and I’m not having much luck. I would prefer a standard, so I can learn how to drive one. And I know the advantages on the quarter mile. And if you haven’t noticed, I’m looking for something higher performance than your average family car. I need the option of a v6 higher than a 3.1 L. Preferably a small block v8 if possible.

So, what do you guys think? Am I stuck with the inevitable, or is there hope for me yet?
