Open Question: Classic Cars for summer fun?
Posted by adminFeb 10
I realize there are a lot of questions answered about classic cars, but everyone’s opinion is different. With that I would like to say that I currently drive a 1990 Honda Accord. This car is cleaner and more reliable than most cars half its age. I love driving old cars, i love the history involved and just the fact that they were built like rocks.
My dilemma is that I want a car for summer driving and for fun. I am stuck between a few cars like a Mustang(any year), Supra(80’s), Lincoln continental (80’s or older) or a bronco (late 70’s). I am also open to other car suggestions, but i do not like Chevys (only the el camino).
Basically what I want is something cheap (under 5 grand) that doesn’t need to be mint, but should be decently clean and in proper running order. I also need to consider reliability and how easy they are to fix. Seeing that I am not a mechanic, most of the stuff i would need to enlist a friend or bring it to a shop. I am NOT concerned about gas mileage seeing that it would be for pure weekend driving. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Insurance rates may be a concern of mine seeing that i am only 20 years old and it would be rather pricey to insure a new car.
**It would be ideal if i could get a classic car that i could drive year round so i could part with the Honda Accord.
