I have a 1968 chevy chevelle with a 396 motor and the person that owned this car put a hei stock distribitor in it .Well the vacuum advance and magnets and return springs are worn and I need a new distribitor .What year should I ask for and for what type chevy ..Hei came out in 1974 for california cars and in 1975 for american..
I never worked on a big block and was wondering if the small block distribitors are the same
