Hey, I’m looking to be buying a Chevrolet Chevelle SS (1970 Version) in the near future, I haven’t yet decided whether i’m going for the full on 454 version or if i’ll stick with a 396 but that ain’t the problem. Basically all the dealers who sell these classic models when proving the authenticity of these beasts seem to like the fact it is in its original paintwork, however the color Chevelle I want is an extremely lucrative and rare green, and i haven’t seen one for sale for months. So what I’m wondering is if I buy an SS that’s stock color is red, and I have it repainted in that official Chevy green by an expert, will I wreck my cars authenticity and value - they are valuable cars and it would obviously still be a genuine SS - but it wouldn’t be the color it was when it left the factory in 70′, help!
