Like a Cadillac from 1956-1958? What other American cars would be a good choice from that era?

I’m looking for a good 60’s car to restore, and I’m having a problem finding some. I was wondering if things like going to a junk yard would be a good thing to try, or if I should just hold out and not bother? Any specific tips on finding a good car that does not involve searching the internet would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I got my classic car appraised in September. I have a 1967 Impala 4 door sedan that has a 350 Cu In crate engine and a lot of mods. It also has a hydraulic system that raises the hood up the other way. The guy appraised it at $12,900 and I only paid $5,500 so im in the green if I want to sell it like that.

What I want to do is to restore it completely back to factory look with a little mods of my own (overdrive transmission, CD/DVD player and speakers, remove the hydraulics and so forth.

If I keep the receipts of all the stuff that I do to the car, will the appraisal be worth more or will I be getting a hit?

Is it maybe Timing? Is that all it could be?
My main concern was a faulty HEI system, But if it sounds more like timing, that’s good news to me. Being that I drive this car every day to school( mainly highway ) this is a bit of a problem. It does back fire a bit very very little, It does have an exhaust leak though. I must say though that the car rain fairly well with the old points system, but backfired just as much.
I suppose I should say that it is a straight six.

Okay well a few months ago i met this guy in my advisory class.(im not going to mention his name).I like rock music u know disciple,flyleaf,three days grace,chevelle,breaking benjamin.So im talking with my friend in the beginning of advisory and i pulled out my notebook and of curse it has adam gontier on it.So he’s like is that adam gontier from three days grace? and i was like ‘Yeah your like the only person who knows.the rest of the time we talked.i was starting to realize that i liked him,but not as much as the other guy.I just got his number like 2 weeks ago….and ive been texting him.Alot of my friends used to like him but now only 2 do.But even they don’t like him like i do……plus on my facebook my perfect guys was someone who 1.likes rock music 2.makes me laugh 3.can pull of a plain t shirt 4.likes me for me.and he just happens to fit that perfectly i only just realized this and the fact that know i like him more then the guy before.by the way he’s friends with a kid named andrew who my friend robin likes.Plus i was thinking of inviting him to go to the Breaking benjamin concert with me,and andrew is always teasing me about him so i don’t know….cause were pretty close
